“Dear Hendrick's family, I just found out about Russell's death, and I want to let you know how much he meant to me. Both Russell and June became more than friends with the years. I always received from them a special kind of love and always felt welcomed. Russell, with his gentle and loving voice, was like a father figure, since I lost my father more than 40 years ago. It was always a blessing to go to visit him and receive his wisdom and share in his faith. I will always carry him in my heart.”
