It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charles Delmont Vandercook of Covington, Louisiana, born in Jackson, Mississippi, who passed away on March 3, 2021, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John P. Vandercook Sr. and Millicent Catherine Gunn Vandercook. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Adams Vandercook; his son Michael Aaron Vandercook (Sandra); and his siblings, Cherry Vandercook Blackwell (Ben), J. Paul Vandercook (Fran) and Philip Vandercook (Sandy). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

With COVID-19, restrictions social distancing and face mask are required to attend services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Charles Vandercook may be made to First Baptist Church Covington and/or Global Maritime Ministries in New Orleans, LA.

“I was very sorry to hear of Charlie's passing. Every time I saw him he was involved in service to others and service to the Lord, whether it was working with children at church or doing disaster assistance for someone in need following a flood. I accompanied him to gut a house for a lady following the August 2016 flood. He worked circles around me and everyone else on that hot summer day. I was dragging by the end of the day, but he was still going strong. What a fine Christian and great man!”
