He was predeceased by: his parents, Rose M. Sardegna and Leo P. Hymel Sr.; his sister Lenora H. Power; and his brother-in-law Harold Power (Jake). He is survived by: his brother Charles A. Hymel (Joyce); and his sister-in-law Lucie V. Hymel Brea. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
