He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Joe Sims and Maxine Gault Sims; and his siblings, David Joe Sims, Aubrey Lee Sims, Johnny Wayne Sims and Sharon Sims Davenport.
He is survived by: his wife Faye Sims; his children, Darren Sims (Tammy) and Dana Sims (Mike Huffty); and his stepsons, Todd Long, Toby Long (Amy) and Tim Long. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, as well as, numerous nieces and nephews.
