He was predeceased by: his wife Reba Duke Staples; and his parents, Thomas R. Staples, Sr. and Ethel Turner Staples. He is survived by: his children, Denise Saucier (Kenny), Dawn Wallace Roberts (Frank), Hope Wallace Blanchard (Andy), Thomas R. "Bo" Staples, III (Jenny Lynn) and Duke J. Staples (Abigail); and his siblings, Grace Staples Lutschg (James Lutschg), Anne Staples Johnston (Paul), Turner Staples (Ronny), Arlene Ell, Sarah McDowell and Donald R. "Joe" Staples.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Clinton United Methodist Church Ramp Tramp fund.
