She was predeceased by: her parents, Gilbert Melancon and Edmonia Robicheaux Melancon; her son Van Doucet; her siblings, Hubert, Stanley, Roland Melancon, Claudia Lasseigne and Mazel Vaughn; her son-in-law Dwayne Latiolais; and her pet Scruffy Mutt Doucet.

She is survived by: her husband Ivan "Lukin" Doucet; her children, Shane Doucet (Donna Theriot Doucet) and Dawn Doucet Latiolais; her grandchildren, Kindall Doucet (Seth Ousley), Leryn LeBlanc Richaud and Rylen Doucet; her great grandchildren, Collins LeBlanc and Klyne Richaud; and her sisters, Bernice Hebert and Betty Doucet. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
