She was predeceased by: her husband Melvin Martin, Jr; her parents, George Jean Bruns and Lucille Rogers Bruns; and her siblings, Napoleon Bruns, Sr., Otis Lang, Bernice Bruns Pittman, Irma Bruns Hill and Gladys Bruns Sampson.
She is survived by: her children, Marsha Kim Spikes (Charles) and Kenneth Wayne Martin (Hildra); her nephew Bruce Sampson of Bogalusa; her grandchildren, Kimberly Spikes Crum (Willie) of Atlanta, GA, Daphne Martin Donaldson (Alvin) of Denham Springs and Leslie Spikes Harvey (Jabari) of Houston; and her sister Elmira Bruns Brown of Houston, TX.
