He was predeceased by: his father Calvin Hopkins; his wife Jane Brown Hopkins; and his children, John Calvin Hopkins, Donna Ray Hopkins, Tammy Jane Hopkins and Tonya Carol Hopkins.
He is survived by: his children, Joseph K. Hopkins of Greasy Creek, David Lee Hopkins of Greasy Creek and Kera Lavon Hobbs of Pikeville; and his siblings, Joe Ed Hopkins of Oakwood, OH, Delena "Florine" Nichols of Ohio and Judy Hopkins McCoy of Ohio. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren.
