It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary Allen Gilkison (Versailles, Kentucky), born in Lexington, Kentucky, who passed away on November 9, 2023, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Marie Parker and James Owen Gilkison. He is survived by: his wife Gloria McDaniel Gilkison; his daughters, Gretchen Caine (Bill) and Genna Mattox; his siblings, Wanda Brooks, Shirley Logdon and Tom Gilkison (Carol); and his grandchildren, Mason Mattox, Abigail Caine, Alyssa Mattox, Cooper Caine and Jamie Garmany.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his church, Glen's Creek Baptist, Versailles, KY.

I first met Gary at a Jailer's Association meeting when I was in the Attorney General's office and he welcomed me back home when I told him I was from Versailles and came back from North Carolina.
