He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Skaggs and Mary Faye Linville Skaggs; his former wife Minnie Simmons Skaggs; his son Timothy Skaggs; his great great grandchild Malachi Evans; his siblings, Gloria May Skaggs and Silas; and his sister-in-law Myrtle Faye Skaggs.
He is survived by: his children, Rita Bobo (Wayne) of Cullman, Dennis Skaggs (Shrell) of Xenia, Michael Skaggs (Elena) of Melbourne, Larry Skaggs (David) of Cape Coral and Steven Skaggs (Kathleen) of Solon, Ohio.; his wife Bridgette Skaggs of Sandy Hook; his stepsons, Mark Kazee and Steve Thomas; his sisters, Darlene Barker of Milford and Deloris Gilliam of Mazie, Kentucky.; his grandchildren, Tara Barker (Heath), Heather Bryant (Bobby), Tami Evans (Glen), Emily Skaggs, Philip Skaggs (Jamie), Julie Skaggs, Kyle Skaggs and Erin Skaggs; and his great grandchildren, Evan Barker, Zachary Barker, Samantha Bryant, Nicholas Skaggs, Lacy Skaggs, Josiah Evans and Nathaniel Evans.
