He was predeceased by: his parents, Estill Kennedy and Hazel Swinford Kennedy; his stepdaughter Elta Caskey; and his siblings, Bobby Kennedy and Lavona June Kennedy.

He is survived by: his wife Patty Muse Kennedy; his sons, Billy W. Kennedy (Amy) of Ashland and Robert Stacy Kennedy (Angela) of Ashland; his stepsons, Denzil Lewis, Hobert Helton (Shanna) and Stephen Caskey (Brandy) of Sandy Hook; and his siblings, Charles Kennedy of Klamath Falls, Vernon Kennedy of Columbus, Darrell Kennedy of Morehead, Wanda Parker of Morehead and Garnet Williams of Salt Lick. He is also survived by grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family has ask that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the funeral to help with funeral expenses.
