He was predeceased by: his sister Tammy Sue Watkins. He is survived by: his wife Rita Shepherd Watkins; his children, Joshua Lynn (Amanda Watkins) of Salyersville, Jamie (Carl Singleton) of Blytheville and Jeanna Marie (Roger Horn) of Nicholasville; his siblings, Jackie Watkins of Salyersville, Timothy Watkins of Salyersville, Vickie (Gary Manns) of Salyersville, Sheila (Jack Allen) of Judson and Sandra Smith of North Justice; his stepbrother Duane Salyers of Michigan; his grandchildren, Peyton Singleton, Kyle Bailey, Kaleb Stephens, Breanna Horn O'Daniel and Austin Horn; and his great grandchild Violet O'Daniel.

In lieu of flowers, family has requested contributions made toward the Jimmy Watkins memorial fund.
