He is survived by: his wife Gladys Collinsworth Carty; his children, Edsel Ray Carty (Melissa) of Sandy Hook, Lawrence Jason Carty (Melinda) of West Liberty and Virginia Patrick (Tommy) of Salyersville; and his siblings, Herbert Carty of Salyersville, Aaron Carty of Indianan, Walter Carty of Salyersville, Royal Carty of Salyersville, Betty Lou Whitaker of Salyersville, Phyllis Ann Whitaker of Salyersville and Barbara Sue Dingus of Salyersville. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren.
