He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Holmes and Rena Burton Holmes; his wife Connie Paulene Franklin Holmes; and his siblings, Ramona Lane, Iola Holmes, Gwendola Holmes, Nola Vena Crawhorn, Ronald Holmes and Donald Holmes.
He is survived by: his children, Angela Dixon (Marlin) of Russell Springs, KY, Rodney Holmes of Russell Springs, KY and Willie Holmes of Bronston, KY; his granddaughters, Bethany Ann Copley (John Pruitt) and Ashley Nicole Holmes (Ascenzio Bilello); his great grandchild Leora Bilello; and his sister Naomi Burton (Leonard) of Elizabethtown, KY. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
