He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Bascum and Afteel Meece Smith; his former wife Donna Gosser Smith; his grandchildren, Steven Dick and Sarah Dick; his stepdaughter Lindsay Akers; and his brother-in-law Limon Harris.
He is survived by: his wife Pam Doss Smith; his children, Henry Bryan Smith (Melissa) of Russell Springs, Angela Dawn Ragle (Mike) of Jamestown, Carla Gail Hart (Clint) of Russell Springs and Kacie Hood (Troy) of Scottsville; his sisters, Charlene Harris of Russell Springs and Deborah Popplewell (Mike) of Russell Springs; his grandchildren, Paul Allen Dick (Kim), Katie Dick (Tyler), Maggie Hart, Natalie Hart, Bryanna Smith, Blane Smith, Clare Hood, Reece Hood and Morgan Rutledge (David); his great grandchildren, Kylie Grace Dick and Eli Rutledge; and his stepson-in-law J. T. Akers.
