He was predeceased by: his mother Josephine Elizabeth Lawton Rasel; and his stepmother Betty Lou Rasel. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Schary Rasel; his daughters, Mandy Smiley (Steve) of Bowling Green and Jody Hampton (Michael) of Eddyville; his stepsister Roncie Trancelaun of Pennsylvania; and his grandchildren, Cole Smiley, Katy Smiley and Huntley Dale Hampton.
