He was predeceased by: his father Henry Johnson; and his wife Betty Marshall Johnson. He is survived by: his daughters, Sue Collins (Larry) of Prestonsburg and Brenda Reil (Richard); his sisters, Evelyn Gardener of Indiana and Golden Justice of Prestonsburg, Kentucky; his grandchildren, Michael Collins (Brittany), Holly Hobson (Bryan), Brandy Jones and Shannen Young (Brenton); and his great grandchildren, Xavier Hall, Gavin Hall, Elijah Young, Lily Young and Lucas Hobson.
George was a member of Cow Creek Freewill Baptist Church for many years, which he faithfully attended until Covid started.
