He was predeceased by: his parents, James Preece and Zella Meade Preece; and his siblings, Harvey Fraley of Ezra Fraley, R. J, T. J. Preece, Steward Preece, Bill Preece, Lyda May Preece and Orga L. Howard.
He is survived by: his wife Rowean Preece; his sister Tina Fields of Columbus, OH.; and his grandchildren, Amanda Murphy, Braylee and Brody Murphy. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
