He was predeceased by: his parents, Jasper Downey and Margaret Sue Spurr Downey; his son Johnny Downey; his grandson Jacob Tristin Calhoun; his sister Vivian Allen; and his former wife Mary Elizabeth Brown Downey.
He is survived by: his children, Tammy Lynn Downey Chandler of Williamsburg, Jasper Thomas Downey, Jr. of Williamstown, Linda Kaye Downey of Louisville, Yuroca Margaret Sue Downey of Frankfort, David Downey of Potosi, Missouri and J. T. Downey of Potosi, Missouri; and his daughter-in-law Tammy Moody Downey of Lancaster. He is also survived by his eighteen grandchildren; and his five great-grandchildren.
