As we bid Carolyn farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Carolyn is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Layton "E. L." Petty and Verdie Ola Thurston Petty; her brother Travis Petty; and her niece Lisa Dargert. She is survived by: her sister Margie Hammonds of Paducah; her nephew Fred Hammonds, Jr. of Kevil; and her nieces, Freida Cardwell of Sikeston and Marcia Orlovich of Manhattan, Illinois.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah (120 Memorial Dr, Paducah, KY 42001). A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family requests that donations be made to the Paducah First Baptist Church, 2890 Broadway Street, Paducah, Kentucky 42001 or to the American Heart Association, Kentucky Region, 240 Whittington Parkway, Louisville, KY 40222.
