He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd John Cottrill and Tempest Bertha Leggett Cottrill. He is survived by: his wife Alta McCarty Cottrill; his children, Tempest Kerns (Loren) of Farmington, WV, Robert Cottrill (Annie Kerns) of Lumberport, WV and Kitty Cottrill (Billy Hatcher) of Morehead; and his siblings, Jack Cottrill of Lumberport, WV, Carson Carson Cottrill of Lumberport, WV, Fred Cottrill of Lumberport, WV, Thelma McCarty of Lumberport, WV, Alma Hayhurst of Lumberport, WV and Mary Smith of Joetown, WV. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
