He is survived by: his children, Chad Gabbert (Jenny), Jill Stowe (Mark) and Jenny Smith (Jerid); his grandchildren, Olivia, Chris, Nick, Lauren and Memphis; and his siblings, Martha Carey, Joyce Carey, Jean Hilbert, Judy Blissett, Jimmy Hofelich and Rick Hofelich. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
