He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Andrew Claypool and Mary Jane Wainwright Claypool. He is survived by: his wife Billie Ranae Glover Claypool; his stepchildren, Steven Breeding of Indiana, Pauletta Preston (Tim) of Defiance, Angela Cottrell of Bryan and Jessica Sanchez of Bryan; and his sister Wilma Prescott (Cal) of Whitefield. He is also survived by ten step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.
