He is survived by: his wife Barbara Trent Smith; his children, Justin Smith of Ashland and Angela Renee Keim of Coleman; his stepchildren, James "Buddy" Bowling of Morehead, Steven Bowling of Morehead, Nathan Bowling of Morehead, Shane Stone of Lexington, Brandon Stone of Ashland, Brandi Bowling of Louisville and Tiphanie Bowling of Morehead; and his sisters, Mary Evelyn Ratliff of Morehead and Lou Vernatter of Olive Hill. He is also survived by several grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
