He was predeceased by: his parents, Elsie Atkinson and Edwards; his wife Linda Joan Atkinson (Ramsey); and his siblings, Bill, Kenneth Atkinson, Marie Carter, Joyce Peercy and Barbara Atkinson.
He is survived by: his son Richie Atkinson (Malissa); his brother Harvey Atkinson (Christine); his grandchildren, Joseph Atkinson, Chelsea Shelton (Travis), Ryan Hopper (Allison), Kyle Hopper (Haley), Monica Guffey (Tyler) and Izak Roberts; and his great grandchildren, Layne Shelton, Lynley Shelton, Amari Hopper, Ibram Hopper, Cai Hopper, Jericho Hopper, Sayla Guffey and Embry Guffey.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Davis Chapel building fund.
