He was predeceased by: his father James Ernest; his son John Joseph Sawyers; and his sister Dallas Stevens. He is survived by: his wife Linda Fields Harding; his children, Scotty Ray Harding of Georgia, Samuel James Harding of North Carolina, Gloria Marie Torres (Nando) of West Virginia, Jennifer Vivian Haga (Travis) of North Carolina, Anna Renea King (Marc) of Maysville, KY, Samantha Lucinda Craft (Matthew) of Alabama and Kristina Brewer (Josh) of Taylorsville, KY.; his siblings, Virginia Cunningham, Connie Jennings (Loyd), Reva Alfrey, Jane Nichols (Steve), Benny Harding, Allen Harding (Tammy), Eddie Harding (Sandy) and Jerry Harding (Cheryl); and his sister-in-law Melody Harding. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
