Virginia Gertrude Eddins Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Virginia Gertrude Eddins (Louisville, Kentucky), who passed away on November 23, 2024, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though Virginia Gertrude may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Virginia Gertrude touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Anna Virginia and Leonard Montgomery Douthitt; and her brother Howard Denney Eddins. She is survived by: her children, Wayne Eddins (Sheila), Velma Runner (Phil), Jewell Williams (Tom), Carla Krebs, Terri Eddins and Johnnie Eddins (Bo). She is also survived by nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 2nd 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY 40272). A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 2nd 2024 at 12:30 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, December 2nd 2024 at the Bethany Memorial Cemetery (10917 Dixie Hwy, Valley Station, KY 40272).
