John D. Chalek Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John D. Chalek (Louisville, Kentucky), born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on November 22, 2024, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, John is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that John's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John D. Chalek Sr. and Camilla; his brother William D. Chalek; and his wife Christine Stephens Chalek. He is survived by: his daughters, Jennifer Paige Chalek and Karyn Susanne Wedge (Joshua); and his grandchildren, Michael Zachary and Thomas Patrick Wedge.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 4th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home (235 Juneau Dr, Louisville, KY 40243). A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 4th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the same location.
In recognition of his contributions to the community, John was honored as a Kentucky Colonel.
