She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Boxley and Carrie Boxley (Grant); her stepmother Nancy Boxley; her husband Moses P. Hunter; her children, Jewel Lewis, Moses Hunter, Jr. and Stephen Hunter; and her brother William Boxley, Sr..
She is survived by: her grandson Gary Hunter Jr.; and her children, Valerie Champion, Gary Hunter, Morinda Hunter, Donna Hunter and Karen Adams. She is also survived by grandchildren, nieces, nephews.
