He was predeceased by: his wife Gertrude Elaine Leake Daugherty; his parents, James Robert Daugherty, Sr. and Opel Delores Watson Daugherty; and his sister Rose Marie Mudd (Cletus). He is survived by: his children, Tammy Gribbins (Tim) of Saint Mary's, Melissa Gribbins (Jason) of Saint Francis and Michael Masterson (Teresa) of Raywick; his grandchildren, Timmy Gribbins, Ashtyn Gribbins, Madison Gribbins, Matthew Gribbins and Lydia Masterson; his great grandchildren, Adri, Brian, Carly Jo and Jace; and his siblings, Judy Berry of Loretto, Angela Berry (Lesley) of Loretto, Josephine "Polly" Newman (Pat) of Louisville, Elizabeth Miller (Jimmy) of Cantonment, Florida and James Robert Daugherty, Jr. (Phyllis) of Raywick.
