He was predeceased by: his parents, W. B. Hassell and Mary Louise Philley Hassell; his wife Faye Wyatt Hassell; and his siblings, Billy Hassell, Fred Hassell and Norma Grace.
He is survived by: his children, Phil Hassell Possum Trot (Brenda), Perry Neal Hassell of Fort Worth, TX, Jennifer Ringstaff (Johnny), Ronnica Smith Mayfield (Todd) and Debra Beyer Boaz (Danny); his grandchildren, T. J. Smith (Katie), Morgan Beyer, Cody Beyer (Karlee), Jake Ringstaff and Will Ringstaff; and his great grandchild Nolan Smith. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
