He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Herndon and Gladys McIntosh Herndon. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Evans Herndon; his children, Kathy Hayden (Stephen) of Paducah, KY, Karen Jerrell (Jeff) of Paducah, KY and Ken "KJ" Herndon of Louisville, KY; his grandchildren, Dustan Larkins, Danielle Knight and Dane Knight (Jessica); his great grandchildren, Trent Knight, Alana Thomas, Layla Thomas, Izzy Knight, Rylee Knight, Remi Knight and Elijah Larkins; and his siblings, Dorothy Stroud, Lorene Moore, Jackie Greene, William "Buddy" Herndon and Charles Thomas Herndon. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
