He was predeceased by: his father James Jeremiah; his wife Sandra Lynch Johnson; and his siblings, Delores Brown, Delton L., Larry B. and Phillip D. Johnson.

He is survived by: his sons, Steven Douglas of Leitchfield, Gary Alton of Leitchfield and James Jeremiah Johnson of Leitchfield; his grandchildren, Dakota, Tyler and Gavin Johnson; and his siblings, Gerald, Howard J., Roger L., Darrell D. Johnson and Beverly F. Wells.
