He is survived by: his wife Barbara; his children, D. J. Hartlage (Annalee) and Marybeth Vittitow; his siblings, Frankie Hartlage, Bobby Hartlage (Becky), Doris Marcum and Teresa Westwood (Tony); and his grandchildren, Peyton, Aurora, Evan, Amelia, Gavin and Lola.
