He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Raymond Montgomery and Margaret Ella Stucker Montgomery; his brother Walter M. Montgomery; his stepchildren, Garvis Birdwhistell, Jr. and Virginia Ilene Peyton; and his stepgranddaughter Tonja Ray Trost.
He is survived by: his children, Robert E. "Bobby" Montgomery (Betty) of Lawrenceburg and Wanda Kay Jordan of Lawrenceburg; his grandchildren, Jennifer Jordan LeCompte, Billy Daniel Jordan (Angalina), Michael Isaiah Jordan (Katelynn), Heather Adams (Randy) and Caleb Montgomery (Niki); his stepgrandchildren, Christopher Birdwhistell, Trevor Birdwhistell and Melissa Rose Bush; his siblings, Bonnie Crawford, Nancy Ward and Jerry Montgomery (Sharon); and his half-brother Steven Wayne Barnes. He is also survived by 21 great grandchildren.
