He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnny Floyd Franklin and Nannie Ethel Gregory Franklin; and his siblings, Joyce Hutcherson, Vivian Beasley, Hollis Franklin, Keith Franklin and Donald "Donnie" Franklin.
He is survived by: his wife Donna Cox Franklin; his father-in-law Ernest Pete Cox; his children, Phillip "Garrett" Franklin, Jr. (Jenny) of Lawrenceburg and NaBeth Michelle Turner (Jacob) of Lawrenceburg; his grandchildren, NaKayla Casey (Devin), Bailey Turner, Lucas Franklin and Sarah Franklin; his great grandchild Joannah Casey; his sisters, Anna Belle Glass, Thelma Bruce (Wendell), Jean Gaines (Larry) and Sherri Hahn; and his siblings-in-law, Mary "Francine" Franklin and Lisco Beasley.
