He is survived by: his sons, Brian Vanoy (Lee) of Danville, Robin Short (Tara) of Harrodsburg and Donnie Ray Short (Heather) of Lancaster; his siblings, Stanley Vanoy of Hustonville, Darlene Qualls of Junction City and Mildred Followell of Indiana; and his grandchildren, Zak Pruitt, Kalynn, Emily, Bryce Vanoy, Jordan, Kaycee and Jonah Short.
