He was predeceased by : his parents, Joe Chambers and Gracie Alma Proffitt; his daughter Doris Zornes; and his siblings, Clay Chambers, Clifton Chambers, Carl Chambers, Roger Chambers, Gladys Lawson, Waleto Chambers, Mattie Chambers and Leora Chambers.
He is survived by : his wife Verniece Black Chambers of Corbin, KY; his children, Sherman Joseph Chambers of Jeffersonville, KY and Jeannetta R. Barber of Jeffersonville, KY; his brother Herman Chambers (Judy) of Jeffersonville, KY; and his grandchildren, Ashley Chambers, Joseph Lee Chambers, Madison Chambers, Nicholas Barber, Bryant Barber, Tyler Barber, Jordan Barber, Matthew Zornes and Mark Zornes (Sarah Zornes). He is also survived by five great great grandchildren.
