She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Smith and Sally Ann Hays Smith; her husband Gerald "Cook" Trent; her son Bruce Trent; her siblings, Carl, Curt, Frank, Ed Smith and Marilyn Dugan; and her son-in-law Paul Carter.
She is survived by: her children, Brenda Carter of Irvington, KY and Gary Trent (Polly) of Lemont, IL; her grandchildren, Jimmy Hayse, Jerry Hayse, Jonathan Trent (Katy) and Casey Trent; and her great grandchildren, Everett and Lily Trent. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
