She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Cecil Young and Barbara Ann Ferguson; her siblings, Kay McNeely and Ernest Cecil "Buddy" Young; her niece Kimberly Ealy; her nephews, Jason Nowlan and Dale McCutcheon; her father-in-law Stanley Spears; and her grandmother Opal Irene Ferguson.
She is survived by: her husband Gary Lee Spears; her children, Christopher Spears of Guston, Ryan Spears (Kimberly) of Vine Grove, Ashley Siewert (Bradford) of Louisville and Nicholas Spears (Ashley Fox) of Irvington; her siblings, Mark Young (Laura), Kathy McCutcheon and Gigi Whann; and her mother-in-law Velena Elease Spears. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
