He was predeceased by: his parents, Garland Thorpe and Ella Smith Thorpe; his wife Patricia Ann Mercer Thorpe; his children, Benny Thorpe, Carolyn Whitehead, Teresa Thorpe and Phyllis Redmon; his son-in-law Estill Whitehead; his siblings, Benny Thorpe, Alma Hensley and Martha Maggard; his great grandchild Hunter Gross; and his great great grandchild Zariah Warren.
He is survived by: his daughter Deborah Hall of Nicholasville, KY; his sister Connie Thorpe of Hazard, KY; and his grandchildren, Rebecca Feltner, Patricia Reyes (Tello), Buddy Whitehead (Marilyn), Sarah Lay, Josh Whitehead (April), Chasity Sanders, Amy Halloway, Tyler Beltran and Bethany Hall. He is also survived by Nieces, Nephews.
