He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbur Applegate and Emma Lee Beard (Huck); his foster parents, Bill Phillips and Marie Phillips; and his siblings, Frankie, Paul, Wilbur, Charles, Mary, Beulah "Polly" and Denny Applegate.
He is survived by: his children, Brittany Applegate (Logan Payne) of Cannelton and Daniel Applegate, Jr. (Sylvia Martin) of Cannelton.
