He was predeceased by: his parents, Bennie Ray and Elizabeth Emogene McGuire Cooksey; and his sister Bertha Mae Cooksey Brown. He is survived by: his wife Diane Warrix Cooksey; his sons, Johnny Cooksey (Lourdes) and Wesley Cooksey (Tracy); his grandchildren, Darby Ware (Chandler), John Wesley Cooksey (Makensie), Brea' and Gabriella; his great grandchild Henry Ware; and his siblings, Frances Sorrell, Jean Rae Moore (Howard) and Tom Cooksey (Pat).
