He was predeceased by: his parents, Tom Sanford and Mary Jackson Sanford; his wife Rose; and his brothers, Eugene Sanford, Charles Sanford (Bud), Jerry Sanford (Rookie) and Arthur Royal.
He is survived by: his children, Sorka Kay Blanton of Morristown, TN, Tom Layfield (Sharon) of Louisville, KY, Jessica Arnold Walls (Poo-Poo) and Anthony of Springfield, OH; his grandchildren, Moriah Layfield, Nkaylah Johnson, Chornise Johnson, Tori Peprie, James Lewis, Larry Johnson, Vincent Lewis, Isaiah Lewis, Halaiyah Layfield and Hannon Blanton; his sister Lela Robertson Mickens (Wesley) of Chicago, IL; and his nephew Robert Sanford, Jr. (Regina) of Baxter.
Due to the mandates by the Governor of Kentucky, all attendees are required to wear a face covering and practice social distancing.
