He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry B. Ferguson and Sallie Belle Baird Ferguson; and his wife Betty Winn Tarpley. He is survived by: his children, Amy Sanderfur (Gary) of Franklin, NC, Joe Ferguson of Franklin and Louis Ferguson of Franklin; and his grandchildren, Charlie Denning of Franklin, Jake Denning of Franklin and Shatana King (Brandon) of Franklin. He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren.
