He was predeceased by: his parents, Murray W. Shields and Helen Brock Shields; and his half-brothers, William Gerald Shields and Richard Howard Shields. He is survived by: his wife Janet Sheffield Shields of Flatwoods, KY; his children, Steven Lee Shields of Flatwoods, KY and Katherine Shields Haynes (Logan) of Middletown, OH; and his brothers, Gordon Shields (Sharon R.) of Mesa, Lamar Shields (Sharon O.) of Springfield, VA and Dr. Roger E. Shields (Diann) of Gotha, Florida. He is also survived by extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family to help with expenses.
