He was predeceased by: his father William Johnson; his wife Roberta 'Bobbie Johnson; his daughter Janet Christine Johnson; and his siblings, William T Johnson, Howard B Johnson, Clyde Elmer Johnson, Ruby Lee Scott, Geneva Pinkston, Mary Louise Merritt, Audie Jane King and Tilsman J Johnson.
He is survived by: his daughters, Dianna Compston (David) and Cindy Kennard (Brett); his grandchildren, Ben Johnson II (Tiffani), T. C. Jones (Amy), Clyde Johnson (Trisha), Megan Holland, Emily Jones (Robert), Jessica Thomas (Michael), Travis Compston (Brittany), Myca Williams (Tabby), Elizabeth Kennard (James), Maria Hendrickson (Bryan) and Devon O'Neal (Tyler); and his brother-in-law Bill Reed (Evie). He is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren.
He was a Grampion and advocate for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, along with many other achievements.
