She was predeceased by: her parents, Victor Estep and Minnie Midkiff Estep; her husband George Amos Hess; and her brothers, Jimmy and Jack Estep.

She is survived by: her children, Mark Allen Hess (Kathy) of Raceland, KY and Teresa Gay of Ashland, KY; her grandchildren, Amanda Janee'Hess of Raceland, KY, Brandon Scott Hess (Brittany) of Greenup, KY, Joshua Andrew Hess (Heather) of Flatwoods, KY, Emily Reed Montgomery (Aaron) of Greenup, KY and Charles David "DJ" Jr. of Glenwood, WV; and her great grandchildren, Kingston Reed Montgomery, Andrew Garrett Hess and Hunter Matthew Hess. She is also survived by extended family and friends.
