He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill Carter and Mary Rigsby Carter; his son Timmy Wayne; and his siblings, Claude, Larry, Joe Glenn, Marshall Carter, Shirley Carter Sharpe and Linder Carter Latham.
He is survived by: his sisters, Lorraine Carter Young of Lewisburg and Barbara "Bobby" Carter Davenport of Russellville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
