She was predeceased by: her son William Raymond "Billy" Alvey; her parents, I. L. Taylor and Mattie Taylor; and her siblings, Ira L. Taylor, Jr., Leo Taylor, Billy Taylor, Johnny Taylor and Helen Thomas.
She is survived by: her husband John Charles Alvey, Sr.; her children, John Alvey, Jr., Doug Alvey (Sherri), Joe Alvey (Lisa), Vince Alvey, Keith Alvey (Elizabeth), Terry Alvey (Shannon), Jimmy Alvey, Donna Donahue (Jim), Betty McAllister (Jerry) and Frances Jones (Sonny); and her siblings, Jerome Taylor (Linda) and Arlene Mikesell. She is also survived by forty-seven grandchildren and seventy-five great grandchildren.
